Hi, I’m Andrew James
I grew up in Botswana, surrounded by open skies, raw landscapes, and a sense of freedom that shaped the way I see the world. My childhood was spent outdoors — exploring, creating, and learning to appreciate beauty in the wild and unplanned. That spirit of adventure still drives my work today.
When I moved to a small town, my focus shifted from wide horizons to digital storytelling — cameras, design, and the art of capturing emotion through light and texture. Photography became my way of preserving fleeting moments and telling stories that feel alive and real.
Minds Untamed was born from that same energy — inspired by sculptor Dylan Lewis, whose work mirrors the strength and vulnerability I see in love. As a Cape Town wedding and elopement photographer, I aim to create imagery that’s honest, atmospheric, and deeply connected to place — from the vineyards of the Cape Winelands to the rugged coastlines of the Western Cape.
Every wedding carries its own rhythm and story. My role is to move quietly within it, capturing moments that feel natural and true — the kind that pull you back to how it all felt.

We’re Andrew and Amy — a husband-and-wife team based in the Western Cape, passionate about capturing and creating moments that feel as real as they are beautiful. Andrew is the photographer behind Minds Untamed, drawn to honest storytelling, raw emotion, and the kind of imagery that holds both energy and calm. Amy is the floral designer, crafting romantic, whimsical arrangements inspired by her love of roses, timeless films, and the beauty found in nature.
We’re simple folk at heart. We got married in the small town of Matjiesfontein — a place that perfectly reflects what we value most: quiet charm, authenticity, and connection. Together, we blend photography and floral design to tell stories that feel effortless and intentional — bringing your wedding vision to life through thoughtful details, creativity, and heart.
